This program provides the permitting and inspections of food, lodging and institutional establishments in Surry County.
On-Site Water Protection
This program provides a number of services, including the design and inspection of wastewater disposal systems, inspections of existing systems for the purpose of new construction, and investigations of complaints.
Any time that a water well is drilled in Surry County, a permit is needed. This program covers the permitting, inspection, and sampling of newly constructed wells. Water sampling is also available for existing wells.
This program inspects and provides sanitation ratings for daycare facilities and school buildings in Surry County.
Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program
This program conducts investigations of homes and facilities associated with elevated blood levels in children.
